NOTD: Essie Carry On

It's that time again! Dark colored nail polishes are back on trend for fall and winter! I snagged this Essie polish last year from their carry on collection.

This polish is hard for my to take a picture of and show the true, gorgeous color. It's an eggplant kind of purple that looks great after just two coats. The first coat looks more purple than when you apply the second coat. Then, it looks really dark, almost black-purple.

If you aren't one to normally wear a base coat (shame on you!), then you will want to invest in one for polishes like this. Less pigmented polishes won't stain your nails, but every dark polish or reds all stain my nails. The base coat I use is the Revlon Colorstay 005 Base Coat. It keeps your nails safe.

I love dark polishes. They are great anytime and are not just for "mall goths" anymore!
